A time capsule of songs, from 2013/14,recorded by my friend and musician Dave Lawson in his home studio. Musicians James Anthony (guitar and mandolin), Alison Perkins (fiddle) and Ben Luckett (drums), and Dave (bass) contributed to the sessions. It was never publicly released, because all I had were the audio files at the time and wasn't able to afford pressing any physical form of the music. The songs felt very vulnerable at a time I was feeling isolated and struggling with postpartum depression. I was nervous about being misunderstood or judged and it felt safer to bury these songs. Well, My birthday gift to you, and to myself this year is this album, dug up, probably unfinished, probably revealing, but mine nonetheless.
